Alpine imap save password

Tired of typing your password everytime you login to IMAP with Alpine?

# touch ~/.pine-passfile

Next time you run Alpine, it will prompt you for password then prompt you to save it.

Tested on Ubuntu Hardy only.

Thanks. Worked for me.

In case anyone else runs into this looking for a solution to password saving with Alpine under Ubuntu, just make sure you are using the Alpine version from the Hardy repos. I was used a .deb to install the latest Alpine (has 6 months of bug fixes in it). Unfortunately, who ever compiled it did not enable passfile support.
